Yesterday I went to a sitzprobe. It was my first experience of hearing the singers and orchestra together, and it was a spine-tingling experience. I sat alone and listened while the ghostly shapes of the imaginary production danced in my inner eye.
Later, I went on stage to look at the first assembly of parts of the set. What people don’t know who have never stepped onto a stage in a big auditorium is that the space behind and above you feels even larger than that out front. You are in a cathedral looking out into a theatre, and it is – literally - awesome.

Hello Ms. Potter:
I hope you'll look at an article I wrote recently for www.BlogCritics.org entitled "The Greatest Maestro of Tango In The World", about Gustavo and Giselle Anne Naveira. A very remarkable couple, and of course I first learned of Gustavo through your film THE TANGO LESSON.
