Sally,
First of all please accept my congratulations for this daring work and the completion of a trying journey... one that many of us have enjoyed following in your blog. Success is always best defined in our own hearts, knowing we have given our best, learning, growing, and sharing a part of the human experience through our art. Not only have you shared on the stage to your audience, but also in your blog/forum and this work is already a success on so many levels. I have no doubt that it must, as all of your work does, blaze new trails and try the "untried". It always amazes me that in film, a 100 year old art form, that there are already so many formulas in play, and thankfully you are one of the directors helping this new art form to continue the evolution. I am saddened to hear of this "booing" potential and my heart breaks for what it takes for someone like you, who gives her whole soul to the work, to be confronted by nay-sayers.
Allow my voice to be one of cheering from afar, joined by so many others who find you to be a fabulous inspiration and a light in what can sometimes feel like a dark and vaccuous commercial pursuit. I wish I could be there, but I am still finishing my film tackling my own obstacles. Enjoy this night surrounded by those with whom you have recently shared so much. Know there are even more of us out here who care.
Best,
Mary Haverstick
