We are in the process of casting Sally Potter's new film and are looking for two teenage girls, aged 14 to 18, for the leading roles.
If you want to be considered in the casting process, we invite you to contact us. The film will shoot in the UK and Ireland over the summer holidays.
To begin with we want you to post a short video of yourself performing part of a scene from the film, and if we like what we see, we will invite you to come to an audition.
About the audition
The story is set in London in 1961 at the time of the "Ban the Bomb" movement. Ginger and Rosa are nearly 16 and lifelong best friends who do everything together. Ginger is the "brainy" one who wants to get involved in the antinuclear protests while Rosa is more interested in boys.
You can choose to be either Ginger or Rosa in your video: it doesn't matter which and will not affect your chances of being considered for both roles. You can do the whole scene sitting down and we only need to see you on the video. The other part can be read for you by someone else – a friend, someone from your family or a teacher – who we will not see in the video.
Please start by introducing yourself to camera. Please face the camera and make sure we can see your face and hear you clearly. A head and shoulders shot is best. There is no need for any costume or special location.
Tell us your name, your age and where in the country you are from. Then tell us one interesting fact about yourself.

How to submit your audition video:
1) Go to www.youtube.com
2) In the top right, click Create Account, you will need an email address. Or log in if you already have an account.
3) Once you're account is active, you can upload your video. To the right of the search bar, click Upload.
4) Choose Upload Video and select the file from your computer.
5) While the videos uploading, give the video a title. The title should be the name of the character you're auditioning for, followed by your name.
6) Under description, you'll need to provide a contact detail email for us to get in touch with you should you be successful.
7) Tags and category can be left blank.
8) Under privacy, select Private.
9) Click Save Changes, and wait for you video to finish uploading.
10) Once completed, click on your username in the top right hand corner and go to My Videos
11) You're video will appear, select Edit
12) Scroll down to Broadcasting and Sharing Options, select Private.
13) When asked who to share the video with, enter the username spinteractive1.
14) Click Send, and the video will come to us.

I'm 13 years old now and my birthday isn't until August however I can easily pass for 14 years old or older and i have my parents permission to audition, am I still welcome to put forward a video? My agency said that you definitely want somebody of 14 years of age when it comes to filming though.
If you have your parents' permission, it's fine to submit a video .

I have a question, I am wondering if you have to live in England to submit an audition tape? So if you live in another country, but can do an English accent, can you still participate?
I live in Scandinavia and would like to submit an audition tape, but I'm very unsure if there is any sense since I live here.

I does not matter where you live, provided you can do a perfect English accent and are free to travel to the UK for shooting.

The next round of auditions will be sometime in March. It will be up to 2 weeks before decisions are made about who will be invited to participate .

There is no pre-set limit on how many will be invited to the next round of auditions.

I know that you may feel like you have been asked this before but I'm very curious as I don't believe that my audtition entry was up to a very good standard and in one comment you said that we can do it again but in another you said that people who have had problems can only do it again. Sorry to be annoying.

Unfortunately, you are almost certainly too young, unless you look 16 !

Does your ethnicity affect your chances of being picked, do you already have in mind what you want the characters to look like?
Finding someone really talented is more important than a particular ethnic background.
The only thing we definitely need is the ability to do a perfect English accent.

Can I do another audition??
My first one is a serious type audition but since their are so many ways to portray the characters can I do a second audition, doing it in a jokey kind of way?
Or would this just appear annoying?
Also, if the characters were supposed to be portrayed in a jokey kind of way but someone did it in a serious way, but it was really outstanding, would you ask that person for a callback?
(basically what I'm saying is, will you accept more than 1 way to portray this, or are you looking for something in picticular? you can't obviously say what that paticular method is but will either portrayal methods do? Or are you looking for something unique that no one else has done?)

I 've just sent my video to you. I recorded it at night so the light from the bulb in the room makes the video look kind of yellow, naturally. I didn't think natural/artificial lighting would be a problem but I'd like to know if it's ok?
Also, I just saw your comment about British and irish accents being necessary. I'm irish but I think I might sound a bit American aswell? I can learn other accents so I hope you are not judging to hard by accent. Thank you.
The colour of the lighting is not important, as long as we can see your face clearly.
