Dear Sally,
I have watched and admired The Tango Lesson many times. Based in Melbourne,
I am a classically trained viola player, who has spent many years playing in
professional symphony orchestras. However as a lover of tango - both music
and dance- I have written, produced, narrated and musically directed my own
stage show called Tango's Violin. It has been a sell out in both seasons
we've had so far. Now I want to convert it to screen. Most tango shows have
little or no plot. This show is essentially driven by the plot with the
musical items punctuating the actions/ events. We performed it in the Famous
Spiegeltent, Melbourne and His Majesty's Theatre Perth. As you have a
genuine interest and understanding of tango, I wondered whether I would be
able to meet with you about this project. I have just spent a month in Buenos
Aires for the first time shooting a promo and studying both tango music and dance. Last year I produced & presented a 13 week TV series and thoroughly love the film making process. I would love to meet with you to discuss various aspects of the film version with you and see if you are interested in being involved.
As Australia is so far away and I am currently in NY and planning a trip next week to London, I hope to hear from you soon!
