I wish I lived in "real" London (I'm from London, Ontario, and came down to Toronto to see YES at the film festival with some friends, totally loved it and rented your other movies). I would so love to see your production of _Carmen_. Is there any chance that it will tour? Or will there be more material on the internet? I can't wait to hear about how you tell the story -- can you give us some hints? Will it be quite an ironic version, like your adaptation of _Orlando_? And how is Pablo Veron going to feature -- can he sing as well as he can dance???

Pablo Veron can indeed sing but in this production he will be creating music with his feet.
I dont think Carmen's story lends itself well to irony, though an ironic approach to much of what the Carmen myth has become is a necessity, in order to puncture the cliches and stereotypes that have gradually attached themselves to productions.
I dont know if this Carmen will tour. For the moment it is rooted in the London Coliseum, an enormous theatre, between the end of September and the end of November. The glory and tragedy of live work is its impermanence....I sit here writing before it exists on stage and by December it will already be a memory.
